Tea For Thousands (A Manifesto for Weeds) is a performative reading in which the stories of different (non)weeds come together. A narrative written as a manifesto recalls the plants that are denied access to Europe without a passport and those that were historically banned because they were used for contraception and abortion. It reflects on plants that are unwanted by humans and labelled as weeds, even though they possess healing powers, and imagines a future in which these plants could create a new system in which they and the bodies of other living beings could make autonomous decisions about themselves and their rights.

The reading takes place as part of the event and exhibition series Louder, Uglier, Taller, Weirder — Learning from Weeds / Von Unkraut lernen, www.louderugliertallerweirder.net

Lucila Pacheco Dehne (*1994) explores resistance, fragile identities, and the environment in her work. Drawing on fictional myths, she develops utopias and hybrid worlds, examining the political, emotional, and ecological dimensions of migration and colonial memory, particularly through the relationships between humans and plants. Her sculptures and installations extend into readings and culinary performances.
